Birds and Ducks with Noey ~ Salty Sea with Remy

My little artist was all about the birds this day. He painted his red bird.

Noey thought it was great, as you can see.




We had a pile of messy ducks.


He thought bathing them was as fun as painting with them.


He had some time to play on his new kitty cat piano.


Remy wrote this about his best friend.


Remy started on a masterpiece.


We set up for an experiment to show why the ocean is getting saltier.


Remy mixed 4 Tablespoons of salt into 1 cup of water.


He watched it boil...




The salt was left behind and it was fluffy!


Plants With Remy

We soaked some lima beans so that we could slip off the seed coat and see the baby plant and the stored food the baby plant uses.



He also did the FAVORITE celery experiment. :)




He also wanted to try a rose.
He split the stem and used two different colors.



Tongues

Before I homeschooled I really never put much thought into certain things. Like tongues for instance.





Your moving along and then the topic of how a tongue works comes up.


Remy, the one most like me, looks at his tongue and declares he doesn't like his tongue now. It is gross and now it is stuck in his mouth while he thinks it is gross. HA HA HA


In school they would talk about the heart or the bones and I would refuse to think of those parts in ME. I would blissfully just decide they were in everyone else and not me.


Are we the only ones who have become grossed out with ourselves through study?

More Vision Fun and Remy's New Love

Remy set a paper ball on the top of a cup. He covered one eye and flicked the paper ball and then he walked with both eyes open and flicked it again. He decided that it is a bonus to have both of your eyes.








After his FIRST DAY OF GYMNASTICS he came home and drew what he did for his daddy.





He has went for a whole month now and he loves it. It is a place for him to get his monkey ways OUT of himself. It also saves my furniture. ;)

Engines and Eyes

Eli is still on his engine unit. I am loving how it has started with basic ideas before it led into the the big things like steam engines. One day he had an experiment to show the movement of molecules. It was very simple with things we already had on hand.





In one cup he had hot water (red dye) and the other was cold (blue).








The hot water had much more movement with those molecules bouncing around so the water turned red before the cold water turned blue.








Remy is learning about the eye and how the iris or the colored part of the eye is a muscle that makes the pupil smaller and bigger to control the light we take in.


Inside we took a picture of his pupil.





And then we checked the mail. :)





He thought it was neat and gross. He said that he can now feel this happening in his eye because now he knows it happens. Hee hee...


Noey played with his baby school stuff.











I finally got him to watch his movie so I could finish up school with the big boys.





I think I need one more boyfriend...what do you all think?
