To see how freezing water can break rocks we set out a jar, bag, and some water.
Elijah filled the jar with the water and put the top on tight.
We set it into a sandwich bag so when the glass broke we wouldn't need to touch glass shards.
Place it in the freezer.
We took it out of the freezer the next day and we thought it was so neat!
We put it back in the bag and let it melt.
Elijah decided that water can cause some weathering.
The next weathering we played with was rocks. We know they can tumble, wind can blow on them, and they can be weathered in water.
So, continual rubbing can weather rock.
The next one we were going to prove was that seeds can cause weathering as they germinate. This one he was a little skeptical about.
Put the beans in your container up to the top and then pour water on them.
Place the top on the container.
We checked it a few hours later and the top was buldging.
We kept checking...
...and finally found this.
Seems seeds can make a bit of a scene, afterall! :)
