We had a blast, I even found a way to muster up some festive feelings in my sour mood of late. I love holidays and I love making them special for the boys. I didn't feel up to it until the last minute, but I got there, thankyou JESUS!
The children and I painted flag rocks after lunch.
The first one is mine, the second one is Eli's, and they third one is Remy's flag rock.
After the painting we made fireworks on black paper with glue and glitter.
This one is mine. It looks so real in the photo!
Elijah's
Remy's.
On the way to buying the boys fireworks Remy ate some fresh basil he grew.
Remy bought this turtle at the stand. :) A firework made just for him! Ha ha.
When we got back home the boys wanted to swim right away. Matthew took this one of Elijah and I and it would have been SWEET *if* Elijah could keep himself from putting bunny ears on his MOTHER!
This is me and my Piper doggie. I have a photo of Reese, my poor girl that passed last July, in a same sort of pose on the 4th of July. *sigh* I still miss that fur baby so much. Piper has made sure she is my new gal. :)
My newest fish, Elijah.
Silly Remy!
The boys started asking for the "magic drink" I made them last year, yesterday. I was sure to buy the 3 magic potions that make up this yummy drink. :)
Remy had the hardest time waiting for the sky to darken enough for him to set off his fireworks. He went a little crazy from the wait!
This is the firework I bought for Elijah.

Remy setting off his turtle!
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all of my bloggy pals! May God bless us with another year in our GREAT country!
