~*~*~Veteran's Day~*~*~

Today we went to the local aviation museum.

This is a robe presented to one of the men highlighted in the museum.

There was a section for war rations and these recipes were there. We *may* try one.

The boys loved the moon rocks on display. :) I just wanted to touch it!

We also made our free Veteran's Day lapbook. You can find it at http://www.currclick.com/.

I picked up this paper and the boys put it on the back of their lapbooks.

I also called my grandfather and we had a wonderful talk. :) Thankyou to the men and women who are so very disciplined to find the courage to do the wondrous job of keeping us free.

~*~*~Fall Lapbook - Part Two~*~*~

The boys are really enjoying this lapbook. I think Remy is finally to the age where they can each work together and take away something at each of their levels. It is so nice!

They each wrote a list of things that signify fall for them.

They each drew a fall picture. This one is Remy's.

We found out when our sun rose and set today. And then we found out when fall ends.

We had some fall art. Remy made leaf rubbings.

He loved doing that. He made quite a big deal about it.

Remy also made a little Halloween kitty. He got to use the hot glue gun for this one...always a treat.

Elijah made the sweetest fall note cards. You just may have one in your mailbox this week! ;)

Fall Lapbook

The boys and I started our fall lapbook today. We had so much fun. :)

We started with looking up the word season and they each wrote what it meant on their season paper.

Eli's:

They each labeled the seasons with the photo prompt.

We read 2 fall books together.

They made a season booklet to put in their lapbook, Eli's is on the top.

We found out when fall started this year and then we made a little spinning chart about when all the season began this year.

This led to how the seasons actually change. We used our globe and flashlight and then they watched these videos. :)

Part One of Eagles and a Gift for Daddy...

So today we had school, on a saturday. Our daddy is in Shreveport AGAIN, shooting another wedding. He works so hard for us and his regular job and his small photography business he is building here is showing the rewards of that hard work. We are proud of him. And we are thankful sweetheart!

My father and I were on the phone the other day. He told me that he wanted me to tell Matthew that he loved him and then he told me he was a genuine keeper! :) My father adores Matthew and I think that he feels a little that the love and life I have found in Matthew in some ways makes us for the childhood I endured.

Mattmos, you are the man! At, At, the BIG FAT BAT! *inside joke* :)

Eli completed his first week of 3rd grade this day. He smiled a very big smile and you could see beams of light almost coming out of his eyes! *sigh* Thanks for a perfect first week sweet pea! Looking forward to next week.

Remy also had his work, done in 5 minutes! But what else have we come to expect from our little Remy Gage?

He begged for another day. But I bribed him with other goodies we had planned.

We started our Eagle Lapbooks. This lapbook will end our bird series I do believe. We do have a bird coloring book we will use, but not in a time frame. Just in leisure and when we choose.

Time got away with me and I didn't get Matt's handmade present all done. But I have the pieces. We will need to buy a shadow box and print the photo and then it will be done. Does everyone Remember this photo?

It was just so blue and EVERYONE loved it.

I got to thinking. And this is what I came up with.

I mixed up some plaster of paris, poured them into plastice wrapped dinner plates, and then I mixed up some bright blue water color and dripped dots onto the plaster. The kids then swirled it into the plaster with a butter knife. It left a great design and waves of plaster, PERFECT!

Now I will put those circles of plaster all swirly blue and wavy into a shadow box with the photo above in the middle. A way for daddy to remember the day his boys learned to swim, he can even see the hands sizes forever! *sigh* *cry*

They are all dry now and I will give them to him tomorrow and ask for his help with the whole shadow box thingy. He is so good at stuff like that. And I know he will like to take part in it! He likes to pick out frames, my crazy photographer hubby of mine. *wink*
