June 17th
Day Three with Mikey, Tucker and Sabrina was a blast! :) We went to the Coke Museum here, where the person who FIRST bottled coke lived. It is a neat place to go all year round and Sabrina's first visit. Matthew takes bridal and engagement photos here often.

The owners are now away from this world but they made sure that every coke would be a nickel. And so here you can buy a coke out of an old machine for only a nickel and in the glass bottle. :)
We spent most of our time in the gardens because Mikey liked that better. But we did have a short tour in the house for Sabrina's sake. :) While we were there a bride was having her prebridals done, if you look beyond the fountain on this photo you can just make her out. The boys loved her beautiful gown. :) They would smile really big each time she passed them.
We then made our way home and Taylor came to help us make salt water taffy. Now that is a candy making journey, let me tell you! Whew!
Well, when Taylor walked in the door with her long pretty hair flowing and her sun flushed cheeks Eli had to catch his breath. Hee hee! He went to her right away with a HUGE smile and said, I can braid your hair, I have braided bread before! The grownups were laughing so hard. This was SUCH a MATTMO thing to say. It is just another thing I file away in my Taylor and Eli story folder. *wink*
They were some serious taffy makers. They even cut the wrappers for me.
Tucker is now MOBILE! He rolls around ALL DAY LONG! I love it!
I catch him in some obscure place that he is just delighted to have found himself in. All smiles and his joy is contagious!
And here is the TAFFY. We used too much color so it was dark.
It is really good candy though. :) If you have the time and the patience I woud so do this with the kids.
What is surprising about this day is that both boys got a full day of schooling in before we went to the museum and gardens. And we still had time for taffy in the evening. :) It was a great day.
June 18th
Sabrina and I had lunch with a doula client of mine. They share a very similar birthing past. It was a good time for them. The boys stayed back with Matt because he was off of work. After lunch Sabrina and I went to Target for 2 hours. HEAVEN is what it was! Sherri, you and I should go somewhere together like that. *sigh*
After that we came back home and Sabrina went to spend some time with her sister until Sunday. :(
But Matthew and I did some things together and the boys were off from sit down schooling.
June 19th, today!
We had our lessons today and everything was done very quickly. The boys brought out the cup phone thingy they made in science the other day. Eli has been studying the ear and sound.
Remy started an experiment today with evaporation. We will see how much we have left of our cup of water in a few days. :)
Remy's reading and math have exploded again! Today he hears Eli doing his work. Eli says 9+4. Remy runs into the room screaming it is 13 ELI, it is 13! I mean as quick as that...not thought in counting it out. He just knew it! WHAT???? I asked him about it and he says, "Yes, you see 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, the answer is 13". And he walked off like it was nothing! *LAUGH*
He is always in a learning mind frame. He is always teaching himself. If he doesn't know something you can find him doing it over and over by himself. What drives a person like that? I really can't understand it. I am not like that.
Later on in the day he was writing a story and spelling just the way the words sounded. Was it all right, no, but I could make out with his help what it was! He is cracking the codes left in right in his world! Wow!
Not that Eli isn't smart. He isn't a driven. I understand him and he gets things easily. But he and I have always been more alike. ;) He is just floored with watching his brother learn and loves to teach him. I couldn't meet Remy's needs without him! Remy doesn't think they are in different "grades" he just believes he has different books and topics. *Laugh* He feels he is as smart as everyone else and work is fun.
Eli and I love the simple life with plenty of rest and relaxation. Time to read and gather our thoughts. To just be in the world most of the time. My sweetheart. *sigh*
We ended the night with more Eagle lapbook. Remy begs for this until I brought it out.
Tomorrow we are meeting Sabrina and the boys up at the skating rink. FUN stuff ahead. I plan on getting Eli and Remy through lessons and lunch before we leave.
