Creation Day Six, the Color Red, and Apples

The day started with Remy's spelling test. He was very proud of it.

I loved Remy's journal entry on this day...complete with this great dino.

Eli and I read about Samson.

Noey started his little shapes and colors booklet.

He colored apples...

...painted with apples...
Photobucket
...and he even ate them.
Photobucket
This was the first applesauce he has had that isn't in one of those squishy packs. He really enjoyed it. He now eats it quite often.

We celebrated the creation of animals and people with sweet Noah Bleu prints.

He finished up his world mobile. We lost the boy for a while. When I was cleaning up later I found him and pasted him on. The world is now complete.

Noey really enjoyed painting with the apple halves and eating his apple snack this day. He kept signing apple when he would see apples.
I feel as if I am starting to get better at keeping it all together each day. Homeschooling with a baby has been hard. I always feel torn between precious time with him and schooling the older boys. I also feel I am not with my older boys enough. Life is certainly an ever changing journey. I am trying to stick to the thought that we are getting more done than we aren't getting done. Just breathing. :)

A Spelling Game

Elijah and I play a spelling game where he and I collect points.

Photobucket

I place pieces of paper in a brown lunch bag with a different number on each one. Once he spells the word and I deem it correct he can draw a number and write it beside his word on his paper. If he gets it wrong I get to draw the point. Whoever has the most points wins. :)

Look at me, blogging about SCHOOL STUFF. *Sniff Sniff* It must mean Bumbles is growing too fast.

Spelling Volleyball

A little blue ball is a great tool in our lessons. During spelling my youngest has focus issues. He will start to spell say baseball and it goes something like this.

b-a-finds a piece of fuzz on the carpet-investigates piece of fuzz-asks where he was in the word-I tell him to start over-b-a-s-e-he then tells me a story from a show he has watched-I tell him to start over-b-a-s-e-b-a-l-l!

The little blue ball helps to keep his focus and it uses up his endless supply of energy. ;)

In "Spelling Volleyball" I throw the ball and I say b, Remy catches it and throws it back saying a, I catch it and throw it back saying s, and so on.

Excuse Remy's big white shirt. It was bedtime and I had Matthew film this for me. Remy sometimes likes to wear his daddy's undershirts to bed. :)

Birdie Fun with Robins

Elijah started studying robins a few days ago in school.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And he planted a "sensitive plant".

Photobucket

Remy read a play about Robin parents and little baby robin birds.

Photobucket

He made a mobile.

Photobucket

He used flys to help him in math.

Photobucket

It is hard to see what this is a photo of. I drew a cookie and he was able to put a vanilla chip on the cookie for each spelling word he spelled correctly. And then he ate them up. ;)

Photobucket

He studied his hand in science and then he drew it.

Photobucket

Remy also drew this cute monster for me. :)

We had a great week of school with daddy home and now we are up for a wonderful weekend with my childhood friend Heather and her family. Lots of bloggy goodness for me to update with come Monday. :)

Matthew had the call from Target FINALLY, we are now waiting that call for the second interview! We so need this!
