Lessons 5 & 6

*We have been sick for a while...so we are just now getting on the ball!*

Plans for world domination:
  1. Learn how muscles work.
  2. Learn how the brain works.
  3. Learn the sounds of the letters.
  4. Take over the WORLD!

The highlights of the day:

Eli made a neat project today that taught him about his muscles in his arms. He took too long pieces of cardboard, pinned them together at the elbows and taped the yarn "muscles" on the top and bottom. He then flexed and relaxed the arm to see how the muscles reacted. VERY COOL in Eliman's book!

Then he traced his hands and labeled them LEFT and RIGHT. We then did 6 experiments to see which side of his body he used first. His right hand did 5 of the things and his left 1. So he has decided with his experiment that his left side of his brain is stronger because what it controls (the right side of his body). VERY SUPER COOL INDEED!

He did start his first reader of the year. And wow the first story was really deep and sad for a 2nd grader in my opinion. The boy throws the dogs toy into the road on accident and the girl riding her bike HITS the dog, injuring his leg. They make a dash to the vet and the vet fixes him right up while the boy and his father pray. So...yea...starting out deep and dark and twisty in 2nd grade!

Those were the new things he learned as the other school work was major review! I have such a smart cookie in my Eliman!

Remy went over his letter sounds with www.starfalls.com online live books. The letter O, E, and EE was on the menu and he did sooo well! :)

World domination was not accomplished...but we are close...very...very...very...CLOSE! *scary laugh*
