2nd grade Lesson 70 / Kinder Lesson 2

We were busy in the secret labor-a-tory! Great things were accomplished and we feel certain that our goal is within reach.... *silly hysterical laugh*

Highlights of the day:
Remy had his second day of kinder. In phonics we talked about the letter Ii again. Later on tonight I heard him singing, "little hat, little shoes, little hat, little shoes". When I taught him to write the Ii's we used a little song. For capital I we say, "Long stick, little hat, little shoes". For the little i we say, "Short man with a little dot". It just tickled my heart to hear him singing this as he played by himself. *sigh* I love you REMY GAGEins! :)

We also had a math lesson today. He counted objects and filled in the bubble for the correct amount with numbers 1-3, and he matched like objects.

We talked about colors and what items we could find with those colors.

He wanted to do more but I have bears to sew and Eli had work to do. He did help us with science and history but more on that later.

Elijah read about Lincoln today and really enjoyed it. He was so happy to only have 100 days left of 2nd grade. Just 15 more days and we are halfway done with his year. :)

We also learned about wind and hot and cold air and how it effects weather. We will make a hot air balloon the next day Matthew is available. :) I can't wait! It will be so fun!

We finally had our three plants to use in our science project, so we set it all up.

We set one up in the sun and will water it every 2-3 days.

Next we set one in the sun that we will not water. :(

And then...we have our poor plant all alone in the dark with water every 2-3 days.

We have been learning how plants need:
Sun
Chlorophyll
water
dirt
....in order to make sugar for energy.

We want to see if a plant could live and if so for how long and what quality would it be when we take out a need.

We will keep you up to date!
