While we did school I made a King Cake. They take FOREVER! But YUMMY!

I also made a pot of Red Beans and some steamed rice. This is our traditional Mardi Gras meal before the parade.

And of course every post must be graced with a funny Remy face!

We are a homeschooling family in NE Louisiana where the crawfish are abundant and the culture is NEVER lacking. The husband and I are raising 3 men together. Our days are full of blessings!

Yum that King Cake looks so good. You did a great job on it. It looks better than some of the ones that they sell in the grocery stores. I can't believe that you made your own. I have looked at recipes and just passed them up because of the time it takes to make them. Brave Woman. LOL!
We will be going to a few Mardi Gras parades and activities here. My girls are looking forward to the Barkus Parade with all the dogs dressed up in their Mardi Gras attire. Then on Sunday, they are riding on a float in the Children's Parade. They are so excited!
It is EASY!
I start the dough in my bread machine and leave it for 1 1/2 hours.
Then I take it out and form it and allow it to rise again for 1/2 an hour.
Then you bake it for like 25 minutes
mix up the sugar icing and ice after it is cooled.
And then sprikle away!
Enjoy your parades, I hope to see them on your blog!
