Look what we were able to harvest and eat today!

It is our FIRST cucumber and boy was it YUMMY! The kids and I ate that thing up so fast! We are all three ready to descend on that garden outside and EAT UP more! But we will have to wait. There are TONS of cucumbers, baby ones, come on already!

Eli started his second reader of the year! He read about Thomas Edison and Hellen Keller which has led to him wanting to watch the movie on Mrs. Keller that I watched when I was little. Library here we come!

Eli drew this and labeled it Remy/Indiana Jones. Hee hee! I love how he has the snake wound around the tree. The man/Remy is taking notes because he is a Zoologist. I can't ever get enough of Eli's drawings.

We are growing mold ladies and gents! We are leaving one out and one put away after 1 hour of exposure to the air. We learned about spores today...bet you can't tell! We talked about Penicillin since they were interested I am going to get them some books on penicillin as well. :)

Remy had a great day. I would put out a math or phonics sheet and find it done at various times. He likes this and I do too. His drive is outstanding for a 5 year old. Can he please pass some of that on to me????

We finally made that Washington hat today...I asked him why the cherries were on it and he remembered!

He made this Origami doggie today.

He sounded out and wrote the word Ruff as "ruf" all over him and if you will take a look at the dogs mouth...

You will notice that the tongue has salmon, strawberry, and green bean cake taste buds on his tongue. LAUGH! This comes from some learning we did on the body recently. CRACKS me up! You never know what they kept in the learning and when it will show up! LOVE IT!

Eli had asked me how to spell February and Remy quickly started spelling while sounding out. Fuh - "F", eh - "e", buh - "b"...and then he said W because he doesn't say it as cleary as you or I. He was right by how he said it though! Eli and I were floored! Stinkin' smartie pants!

"Oh, Ah...dance in smartie pants!" Any one watch Between the Lions?

And you know how I find "stuff" all over the place? I found washed crab apples all over the sink today in Remy's bathroom. Gotta love those Remy Treasures!

Yay on your cucumber! Yum! Our sweet banana peppers are growing like crazy and Lindsay will pick them off the plant and run insdie to wash them off and eat them. We have already started picking our tomatoes too! I really need to get some photos. We are just a "Green Acres" family aren't we? LOL! Not sure if you are old enough to remember that show even.

I love Eli's drawing. It is so wonderful that he includes his little brother in his drawings. So sweet.

Woo hoo I remember growing mold with Melanie! We used all sorts of things and had a lot of fun with it. Who would of thought anyone would get so excited over mold. LOL!

Remy has such an imagination. I just love that flavored tongue on his dog. *smile*
