That Remy!

Remy always has me rolling my eyes, or laughing, or even steaming from his antics. I thought this journal entry summed up him at this time in his life.

He starts out the entry with the 6 inch giant anole he caught in the yard. He still spends a great deal of time in the yard catching lizards, bugs, and frogs. It is one of the things I adore about him. His love for nature was something we noticed very early in his life. He has always been drawn to it. I remember the fuzzy caterpillar he took to church one Wednesday night. He held that little thing the whole time. That is just him.

Then he speaks of my party and the cake I had. He loves a celebration. I often find our visits with friends in his journal. He doesn't talk much about his feelings or what he wants to do. He lives very much in the past and brings up to me often a memory he has recalled.

The last sentence, "Eli got a dang phone", sums up his angst with his older brother being just simply older than he is. He doesn't see a difference in his age and his brothers. It all started with a gameboy years ago. He wants what Eli has and he wants to be looked at as if he is 12 going on 13 as well. He was so upset about that phone and we had to be very firm with him on the subject. I keep reminding him that he is older than Noah. It doesn't seem to work. HA HA HA...

It's so hard when they want to be Big. :(
We just have to work extra hard to make them feel Important, I guess. :)

His handwriting is wonderful and I love seeing him pour his little heart out about his feelings. He is so sweet.
