Sparklers

I have to say that I am now one of those people who enjoy SUMMER!

I spend most of the day OUTSIDE with the kids.

The heat no longer bothers me.

Now I feel like I did as a child. The warmth is just yummy and welcome to me now.

We will see how July and August go. ;)

I have to post some writings of Eli's. His penmanship is so pretty now. Which is BIG because he hated it for so long!

Our puzzle is coming along...it has more than this done now!

I have a cucumber!

I can't wait to pick him and eat him!

The garden is growing up. *sigh* I remember when it was just a wee little garden. Hee hee.

I found this froggy today.

We had veggie burgers and peaches for dinner. And afterwards we used the 3 foot sparklers that daddy brought home from the local fire works stand. :)

Mattmos said that I was his little girl because he had to bring me some home too. Hee hee. I enjoyed my 2 huge sparklers! I danced around with the kids, like a kid. :)

I can't wait for the 4th! I need to find the recipes I want to use tomorrow. I want a light summery veggie salad, veggie burgers, corn on the cob, and a FANTASTIC dessert. Any idea's?

Wow, Eli's penmanship is awesome! I don't think I have seen many boys have that nice of penmanship. You can tell him great job from me, that is wonderful work! Mmm... cucumbers. The last time I tried to grow them they cross polinated with something else and weren't so tasty. Because of moving we have not been able to do a garden this year in case we move before harvest. I am very sad and will really regret it if we stay longer. I LOVE the 4th! If you like jello. You can do a red jello and with some whipped cream on top put blueberries in the top left corner and rows of strawberries alternating to make it an american flag. That is the plan for our desert.

You have a fun sense of humor! Love it! Isn't it fun feeling like a kid again? I can't say the heat doesn't bother me but I do LOVE summer.
Your son's handwriting is outstanding!

Eli's handwriting is beautiful for a boy. It is not very often that you see boys with handwriting like that. I remember when my daughters were in ps, some of their classmates' handwriting was just a bunch of chicken scratch. LOL!

Oh I bet that puzzle is going to be beautiful! I can't wait to see it completed. Please post a photo when you have finished it.

You have a cucumber and I have a tomato! I will have to post a photo of it! We will have to put them together and make a nice salad. LOL!

Your fireworks look awesome. I can't wait until we can pop some for the 4th! We live inside of the city limits so it it not allowed, but we will be going to familys house for the 4th and we can pop them there.

I am not sure what to tell you to prepare for a dessert, but I have made the most yummiest cake every year for Independence Day. It is called "Wave your Flag Cake" and it is always a hit. Here is the link to my page of Independence Day recipes.

Like everyone else is saying, his penmanship is great! I am really hoping to bring my niece's penmanship under control to even be halfway as good as that by the end of the year (of course, she's three years younger, so she has time before it needs to be as nice as his!). My nephew loves to sit and write letters in the dirt... maybe all his spontaneous practise will create good penmanship on his part too? Who knows...

How big is your garden? It looks quite small, but it seems you have about ten types of veggies growing?

What great handwriting for a little guy! I'm trying to plan my menu for the 4th, too!

I am loving all the sweet ideas! Rhonda, I am saving that link!

Melissa, that handwriting took 4 years to come by. Hee hee... Remy does write and write and write all day all on his own, and yes it does help with the neatness.

My garden is really small! I read a book called something like making a clustered garden and then picked my papa's huge green garden brain. I have to feed it well and weed it. But the weeds are less because of it. I did make rows like a tractor would so the water and stuff would do right.

I have:
tomatoes (heirloom big ones/cherry)

squash

okra

cucumbers

and Eli had to try broccoli...we will see?

The garden was a school project so we are learning as we go! And when we need him papa his there.

Laura, what do you have listed so far on that menu?
