Baby Bunny...

First a little history. When Mattmos and I first got married we had a baby bunny named chloe. She was very sweet and she grew into a sweet girl who loved to walk after me. She was litter trained and would come when I called her. I loved her very much. She was meant to be Eli's but she died before he was born. She had cancer, her ear was removed to save her, but she died anyway. It was very sad. :(

I have waited for years and many moves for a new sweet bunny. But we always rented our housing or there wasn't enough room. Well, finally we moved into our new house and last night Matthew bought home the sweetest bunny rabbit in town!

Well, this morning the little baby started to pass out and not act right. :( Matthew rushed him to the pet store and the sweet lady Valerie fed him corn syrup because he was hypglycemic. :( The vet is very optimistic that he will not have to be put to sleep and says his sugar levels need work and that he is dehydrated. I feel so bad for him. We only had him a short time. Last night he ate half a little bowl of food and drank lots of water. We just feel so bad. I totally lost it. I can't lose another bunny baby. I wanted one for so long and he was perfect. *sigh* Please be in prayer for the little guy!

More Tucker Pictures...

Yes, we are big fans of this little guy. :)

Matthew finally got to hold him. :)

And here is a video!!!!

Christmas Day

We spent this Christmas in our new home. And boy what a difference! I can't tell you how perfect is was...how peaceful. God has been so good!

The kids really enjoyed opening the gifts. They were very giving with each other and with us this year. I only have a few shots...with my NEW camera. But Matthew has some video and stuff I can share later. These will have to do.

On another caching trip we found a spring!

There was a really neat old tree there and it had tons of names carved into it. It also glittered, guessing snails or slugs had roamed on it alot. :)

One of the names on the tree is someone we know!

The boys found the cache!

On one tree the leaves that had turned were black...very pretty...the woods were just magical in this area!

The Autrey DogTrot House

We have been Geocaching again! I tell you we can't get enough! It is just so fun and educational. We take surprise fieldtrips everytime we go out. I look so forward to each trip and hey you get a treasure each time. This treasure wasn't the cache, but the old Autrey house we stumbled on and can't wait to visit when it is open in the spring. :)

The home was built up on rock and wood supports.

We couldn't go into the rooms because they are not open. But Matthew put the camera in a hole and shot these pictures.

Here are the boys looking for the cache.

We found these little orange mushrooms and this spider on one of the tombstones belonging to a family member who lived in the house.

On the way to the Autrey cache we drove by a really old building that Matthew just had to take a picture of.

If you ever get a chance, go to this cache! Well worth it, but go when they are opened!

Egyptian and Sumerian Writing

The boys have really been into this whole Egypt study. I just wish I could take them there. But I don't think the trip money Matthew won from work will cover that for this next vacation. *sigh* I guess the other place we are thinking of will have to do. But I can't write about it in the school blog, the boys are watching. It is a surprise!

We have been learning about the writings of Sumer, the city between two rivers in Mesopotamia. They would record their writing on clay tablets and these lasted for a long time. We also decided to make our own clay tablets with cuneiform writing.

After this we learned about the Egyptians and how for a while they used stones to record information, but they were heavy and took up lots of room. And why should they when they learned to make a paper called papyrus. Only thing is this didn't leave us as much information to learn from as did the earlier stone writings.

We had lots of fun making our own examples and the boys learned SO MUCH!

The Water Horse

Eli has been reading "The Water Horse" book in hopes of seeing the movie on Christmas Day. He finished it yesterday morning before Sabrina and her kids came over. He was so proud, and he is looking forward to knowing what is going on in the movie before seeing it. I just hope it doesn't dissappoint if the book was better! HA HA!

Brina, Tucker and Mikey came to visit!

Yesterday the Lytle's came to swap gifts with us. Brina did a VERY good job with my kids. Eli got a "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" board game and Remy a NEATO ball that turns into a frisbee. We played the 5th grader game for a long time and Eli is now a trivia lover. Hee hee...

I made Tucker's sling yesterday morning before they arrived. :) Here it is!

Seems he likes it as he slept in it the whole time! Maybe now Brina can get more done while she also gets more holding done. :)

The kids also held little Tucker for the first time.

Kinder day 33 - 2nd day 129

Hello to everyone! We have been having a blast in our school. We have even been schooling on the weekends. Shhhhh...lately both of the children are just zooming through it all. And who am I to not take advantage of it? We had that long break while caring for our best friends. And we did learn lots from that experience. We will never forget our time together. :)

Elijah is really into his math lessons. We have pretty much left behind the "baby" math as he calls it and we are getting into the harder maths. He can't wait for his 3rd grade book and we are SO close to ordering it. I have a reading, writing, mathematician next to me each day. His ideas are blooming and branching like crazy. Almost everyday he comes to me with an invention, and I sadly tell him that it has already been made. But I tell him to keep up the ideas.

He just draws all day long and while Tucker, Sabrina's new baby was here, he drew him in his notebook.

Today he made a buttlerfly today. Simple sculptury stuff and it had three layers. Very cute.

He rarely forgets to capitilize or punctuate anymore. His writing is improving and he can spell like nobody's business! The world really is his oyster now. I have taught him all I can and now I can release him and allow him to explore his books and to learn all he desires to. Wow! I never thought there would be a point where I thought this. But his mind is really on level with every adult I know. The only thing he lacks is experience in his world and the learning journeys he will make in the next years of learning at home with us. I am so excited to see his continued growth.

I taught him to read, to do simple math, and to think and write what he thinks. What is there really left to do? He will get it pretty much without me. Wow!

His memory verses for a little while are Matthew 5:13-16. I love these verses. He has it memorized and he says it everyday.

He is also learning a new poem by Robert L. Stevenson. We really like his writing. I was reading a book and he was mentioned there. I was like YAY I know who he is! :) LOVED IT!

Remy, how does one start with Remy. He is just learning too much! He has taught himself addition. I have NEVER taught this to him. NEVER! Matthew has taken to patting me on the shoulder and telling me he is sorry that the boys are so hard on me and taking my teaching away. *laugh* I just thought that this would be more hands on. That they would have a hard time. This isn't hard! This is easy! The only issue I can say we had was with Elijah and I finding our groove together and him not being pushed to write so darn much. He has even started telling me how his past work is helping him now. That feels superb! I am all smiles with school lately. It has been like falling in love...easy and enjoyable. It is like we are the only ones in the world experiencing schooling this way. I so wish all children had this experience.

Remy has just taken off with the reading and now he is spelling and writing words on his own.

If you look the first word is Remy. And then Bat and Net with a period at the end! He is even trying to learn punctuation! Tell him to STOP it already! *laugh*

Remy is so sure of himself and he loves doing this stuff. He will not go and play most days. He hangs on to me begging for school work. And if I don't do it with him he stays by me whinning until I do it. And if I don't he tells me about it the rest of the night and the next morning he begins again. He says it is fun. I really think he needs it. I think he makes him happy. But how? Anyone else dealing with this? I don't want him to go so fast. I want my baby to stay little.

Today he proclaimed to Eli, "You know I am actually reading now"! He loves to rub it in! *laugh* Eli always tells him how proud he is.

Remy's made a clown puppet the other day. He pretended it was real and that it was scary. *sigh*
