Elijah learned about the parts of a flower this past week.
The bud, with the sepal protecting it.
The sepal opened after the flower blooms.
He opened the flower up to inspect the stamen and the pistil.
He then removed the seed from the base of the pistil.
Poor little flower...
It gaves it's life in the name of science.

that's some cool learning going on there!
Very cool!
Great job you guys! I remember Melanie learning the parts of a flower early on. I just love the way Abeka taught the concept and she still remembers it after all this time. Both of my younger girls will continue learning through Abeka, but it is just not for Hannah anymore. :0(
we dissected a tulip bud early this summer. great stuff!
ours was still tiny and green, so I didn't have to give up one of my pretties! ;)
The learning you boys do even getting me excited and intrigued! Can you homeschool me, Chelita?
I laughed at your "poor flower" comment. :)
Great learning. Those boys of yours are learning soooo much more than they would EVER learn in public school.
