Helping Things Grow

I didn't do the big garden with the boys this year. I couldn't give the time to it that it would need. We did give the boys garden goodies in those Easter baskets again this year. The finally decided to plant and play with those garden things they were gifted one HOT day.

Noah hung out in the bouncer.

Piper thinks she is atleast part human and should be in on the gardening fun. Look at this outfit Remy put together. He said that it went together because both the top and the bottoms were blue. Ba ha ha ha ha! He reminds me of my dad, so much!

One of my favorite things I own is that owl watering "can".

These are sunflowers that I helped Noah plant. He really enjoyed his science lesson. :)

Noah is always trying to get to Remy's habitats. He loves to see what is in them and he wants to be allowed to play with them in just the way he desires. Remy came up with this for Noah. He gave him a clean habitat with a fake lizard in it. How cute is that? Look at Noah's mouth in this photo.

I have so loved the summers in this house. This year and last year I did not. I am so ready for fall. It is just harder to have fun in this heat with a baby. I was always told that it would be easier with Noah because he was a summer baby. I must say, I feel it is easier when the weather is cooler.

Remy and His Girl

Something has happened this week in our home that has revamped my boys love for their dogs. I don't have the emotional energy to devote to it at this moment. I just simply found these two together during one of their love fests since the lesson of life being fleeting once again visited our home. There is nothing like a boy and his dog. Now he and Piper have been close buds since the day she was a pup and new in our home. She has just enjoyed his affections much more lately. She follows him around even more now. :)

He saw a video at the vet on how to leash train the dog and he has been super into that.

A Boy and His Dog

My children have so enjoyed those little puppies we gave them long ago. I love that we gave them the chance to love a little dog while they were young. :)

They make nice little warmers for little boys who swim too early in the season and are shivering!!!

Puppy Time

They "Little Eenies" still have regular lessons from the boys. Recently Elijah shared some great reading with his and Remy showed Piper the ways of an author. :)

We love our puppies. :)

It's that time again...

With the air growing cooler on some days here we are once again finding it hard to stay inside for school. One day we spread a blanket and had our lessons outside.

Remy was wearing his picnic shirt, so he had to eat his lunch out there as well. :)

Piper was a very good mama helper as she "guarded" the shoe. ;)

Elijah and Momos snuggled while he did his language work. :)

I think we have had the last day in the pool, there could be a few more, but the water is getting icy. The grass growth has slowed. The leaves on the big Elm are starting to turn and fall into the mentioned pool. Matthew had to buy a new net head so he can spend his early fall days scooping out those leaves. HA HA!

I think I will pull out the fall decorations and put them up tomorrow. :) I love this time of year. Now I need a pumpkin scented candle. :)

My Boy

One day while we had our singing and bible time together before school I looked over and saw my Remy boy with his puppy, Mickey blanket, and a big smile. :) I love homeschooling.

My little "bug boy" saved a dragonfly from the shed and released him. I wish I had on video the giggles as he threw this dragonfly up into the air and the dragonfly took flight! Amazing! :)

My counter is always a spot to add just one more part of summer. ;)

Pretzel Time after a Full Day

We had school outside by the pool today, it was my attempt at making the children hurry. :) They always love to be out and who wouldn't love to have penmanship with a tall glass of ice tea?

Photobucket

Is it just me, or is my Eliman a dream? He is having his math lesson here.

Photobucket

It was a really beautiful day full of big fluffy clouds. They finished up and then we all four had a splashy time in the pool.

Photobucket

After we came in I called out Elijah's spelling list and it took some time to get the words out of him. Maybe it would have went better if Piper hadn't been in the spelling bee?

Photobucket

Matthew and I made dinner together and I put some dough on and surprised the boys with pretzel making after they ate. :) They were so excited!

Remy says that they were EXCELLANT and that he and I could open up a new pretzel shop in the mall. I wasn't thrilled with the recipe but plan on trying another one in the future, because they really liked making them at home. It was super cheap, made with ingredients on hand, and it gave us some fun together. :)

School Room

I have been working on our school room again. I just need to hang some things, have Mattmos paint the walls the way I have requested, and find some chairs that will reach to the table once we have a job and dig ourselves back to financial norms. ;)

BUT...I had to share some of the work now. Sherri, this is for you!

This table opens up below and I am storing books not in use, craft kits, extra paper, laminater, microscope, stuff like that. On top we have a little tv with vcr for the old videos they kids rent from the library. We only have a dvd player in the house. Remy likes to put my old ballet tapes on and teach himself ballet. The computer has all the kids games on it.

Photobucket

I have the boys art supplies that they like to use the most out on this little table. I plan on finding a better space as soon as I can.

Photobucket

The boys everyday curriculum and my things are in the copper bins on the top of the left shelf. Below that I have the other things I can pull from throughout the year to flush out or replace something we are already using. On the bottom I have adhesives for art and bits of ribbon, glitter, etc. in the black baskets. The other shelf is the kid book shelf and it isn't the way it will be in the end.

Photobucket

Piper is sitting on the science box in this photo. I have all the mad scientist stuff in this tote...it is waiting for a better place to live. But that puppy is SWEET, right?

Photobucket

Remy the nature boy, has raised this turtle from a quarter sized baby. We all call her Big Bertha. She is getting so big.

Photobucket

I will post more photos as we make changes. :)

Schooling on a Spring Day

I thought I would update our homeschooling blog now that the rain has been here for days on end. I love stormy weather, but I have been itching for sunshine and flowers with my whole soul, lately. :)

During our day of school outside we watched a very funny little squirrel. He was eating up the seeds from our tree and would hang upside down to get them. I think he did it for the pure enjoyment of it, because he could have just went to the next branch. :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Remy started his 3rd reader of his first grade year that day and wanted to pose with his coke that daddy has treated him with because it was summer. *laugh* Silly Remy!

Photobucket

I spread out our two Mickey Mouse blankets on a sunny patch and we laid on it with bare feet and worked away the day. :)

Photobucket

The puppies were more than happy to sit with us and they gave us lots of loving while we were at their level. I never saw two little tails wiggle so much. :) Oh but how I do love a puppy doggie!

Rommie was her usual sweet but lazy self. :)

Photobucket

I bet you can't tell who she belongs too...

Remy drew a bulls-eye on the little "stove" by the pool and had himself a little target practice with his water gun. He later made a little fire in it and cooked his veggie hot dog in it. :)

Photobucket

That little squirrel and the wonderful wind that blew that day showered us with those little seeds. They were everywhere. We collected some to sprout in a napkin for later.

Photobucket

Piper was very happy to have her beloved mommy person outside with her. I got many sweet doggie kisses and watched her chase everything or inspect everything. :) Those brown eyes get me!

Photobucket

I have to share this photo of how LONG she is. :)

Photobucket

Remy has discovered how to hang upside down. He turns into his favorite animal more and more each day. *giggle*
