We are a homeschooling family in NE Louisiana where the crawfish are abundant and the culture is NEVER lacking. The husband and I are raising 3 men together. Our days are full of blessings!

Who Knew Yard Work Could Be So Sweet?
The men and I decided to get out in the front yard and clean up a bit. We didn't finish it, but we have learned that with Noah we just need to get out there and do what we can. Sometimes he surprises us with how long he enjoys an activity. Other times he is done right away. You know how it is. The baby sets the pace of the activity.
While Elijah mowed for a little bit I watched my sweet Baby Bleu. :)

The Monkey hung and swung from Mrs. Appletree.

The front yard started to look so nice. :) I love my big boy helper. Elijah really has become a young man of late. He helps me do so much. Just last year I still thought him my baby. Now he can push the mower and do such grownup things. Remy still runs around collecting bugs. Elijah helps me. When did it happen? When did he become one who senses responsibility beyond play? *sniff sniff*

After Eli got to the point of the yard where he thought he may pass out I took over and we almost finished. I even pruned Mrs. Appletree. While that went on Remy was the babysitter. I gave Mrs. Appletree a cut and trim, Eli hung out in the tree holding ladybug larvae, and Remy introduced Noah to the joy of a dandelion puff.

How was I so blessed with such wonderful young men to spend my days with? My heart aches it feels so full.

Finally!
Remy was able to catch and hold CRITTERS! Spring is on its way!!!!!!!!!!
We found this bug on our bushes.

We went for a walk and found this guy lounging in the water.

Awww, look at her, ain't she a beaut! *giggle*

I love the eyes!

Now, if the weather goes to cold again, I may need to send Remy off somewhere because the whinning will be TOO MUCH!

Love is in the Air...Everywhere Remy Looks Around!
One day this past week I was on the phone with my mother when I hear squeals of delight and joy from Remy as he ran into the house. I could make out some of the words; anole, camera, babies, mating, mommy, NOW, camera, hurry.....
I tell my mother to hold on and ask Remy to calm down. He tells me he has found 2 anoles mating and he must have a picture to remember!
I give him the camera and now I have 3 lovely photos of the Louisiana mating anole on my meomory card. I NEVER thought that would happen as I lay in my bed after the homebirth of Remy. Gazing into his eyes I never thought he would be who he is....LOL!
Enjoy it, Love is in the air, and Remy it seems...likes to watch. *smirk, giggle, blush*
Notice the blushing bride is missing some of her tail...

The World is Living Again!
Our Remy is the sort of boy who needs to hold creatures that he finds outside. They interest him and never let him down. He complains during the winter that there isn't anything to catch, hold, and tend to. His little habitats stay empty. And then...all at once the world outside begins to wake up and Remy is back to filling those habitats up with his many little friends.
This spring he has one little lizard that he loves the most. It eats bugs from his own hand and doesn't seem to mind the little dimpled hand that holds it. Remy takes him outside for basking and then returns him to his little home.
Remy found this guy in the "creek".
We looked him up in our Insects guide and found he was a "Stag Beetle".
Later on finds the boys making a lizard trap. They say that the lizards will want to bask on the rocks and then crawl inside the crevices to rest and that is when Remy can move the rocks and hold them! *laugh*
Remy has this little guy all set up with a nice little home and he eats as many green leaves as he desires. :)
The temperature this day felt so good...it was nice to sit outside and feel perfect. :)
Elijah found a little inch worm dangling from a silk thread...but you can't see the inch worm in the photo...still I think the boy is cute enough is all his excitement. :)
I found this outside, an orignal Matthew, for me to find and smile over while he was away at work. :)
My boy, part boy, and part whatever else all those creatures he loves so much are made up of. ;)
Schooling on a Spring Day
I thought I would update our homeschooling blog now that the rain has been here for days on end. I love stormy weather, but I have been itching for sunshine and flowers with my whole soul, lately. :)
During our day of school outside we watched a very funny little squirrel. He was eating up the seeds from our tree and would hang upside down to get them. I think he did it for the pure enjoyment of it, because he could have just went to the next branch. :)
Remy started his 3rd reader of his first grade year that day and wanted to pose with his coke that daddy has treated him with because it was summer. *laugh* Silly Remy!
I spread out our two Mickey Mouse blankets on a sunny patch and we laid on it with bare feet and worked away the day. :)
The puppies were more than happy to sit with us and they gave us lots of loving while we were at their level. I never saw two little tails wiggle so much. :) Oh but how I do love a puppy doggie!
Rommie was her usual sweet but lazy self. :)
I bet you can't tell who she belongs too...
Remy drew a bulls-eye on the little "stove" by the pool and had himself a little target practice with his water gun. He later made a little fire in it and cooked his veggie hot dog in it. :)
That little squirrel and the wonderful wind that blew that day showered us with those little seeds. They were everywhere. We collected some to sprout in a napkin for later.
Piper was very happy to have her beloved mommy person outside with her. I got many sweet doggie kisses and watched her chase everything or inspect everything. :) Those brown eyes get me!
I have to share this photo of how LONG she is. :)
Remy has discovered how to hang upside down. He turns into his favorite animal more and more each day. *giggle*

Lots of Random moments with art and box day!
One week the kids wanted to do lots of art. :)
Remy made this stick picture of a car...it looks more like a house. He said that it was way harder than he thought it would be.
I set Eli up with all of his materials one day and Remy said that he wanted to do what Elijah was doing. Remy always wants what Eli has. :)
Eli sprinkled salt on the wet paint in the sky and it made bare spots where the salt soaked up the paint and it looked like a snowy backdrop.
Here are the cutest little feet all tattooed...we call them fishy feets. :)
Remy made a little bear clock and he has used it in school since. :)
I think he just really liked using the laminater. Hee hee...
Now this one was perfect...since Remy is a little stinker. :)
With this one Elijah reviewed primary and secondary colors and distance.
I just love the little pencil drawings they made. Remy made this one, he says they are tulips.
And this is the picture he drew of a mother cat and her kitten.
I love to walk by a book and see that its place is being kept. Elijah is still very much into his rocks, crystals, and minerals. I really need to branch off more on this. It is so hard to get in everything you want to do in your homeschool.
Speaking of Elijah, isn't he such a big looking boy now? I looked up from my own book to find this! This huge almost man!
I have written out a new schedule for our homeschool and with that it gives daddy a chance to help with school when he goes into work later in the day. I was getting so tired of starting some days after 1 or so in the afternoon. So they are getting used to having school with daddy home. We still take off when daddy is off tough. Remy and daddy worked on his math. It was cuteness!
Remy bought a new monkey with his money an I captured this photo of him watching tv. He was just standing there with his hand out like that. He was allowing his new monkey to watch tv.
Remy learned a poem about an elephant and then he cut this one out and his little finger is the trunk. TOO CUTE! :_
An here is our box day!
I am still waiting on my last box for Eli. he only as a little under 3 weeks left of 3rd!
I am very happy with the 4th grade history and science. I really think I could have ordered the 5th math, but for the most part we are happy with it all. I will just mark out the review and add in some of the new stuff he loves. :)
I so hope this weather stays around. I love the sweet spring days...although the little vampires were out today. Eeek!
Remy is keeping and tending frogs again and he has tried to capture some lizards but they are smart and run to the front of the fence and hide.
We had a scare with the puppies and I will TRY to update about that one day. It is related to Reese.
